Tim Hanley is a seasoned global executive, with extensive experience consulting with manufacturers regarding digital transformation, organizational strategy development and execution, acquisitions, and market development. He recently led Deloitte’s Global Consumer and Industrial Products industry practice and helped grow the practice to over $14 billion of revenues during his tenure.

He is also a Qualified Financial Expert and has significant experience both in the board room and with audit committees. Tim also has deep experience in establishing strong, trusting relationships with CXOs and board members, advising them on global business issues and helping implement organizational change. He also has spent significant time over the past decade working overseas, and has a strong understanding of markets throughout Asia, Europe and Latin America.

Tim has been a frequent speaker at many international venues and is sought after for his insights on leading issues and opportunities for manufacturers and distributors today. He is consulted often on the topic of digital transformation and its implications across the manufacturing industry. The world of Industry 4.0 is changing the landscape for manufacturers as well as for their customers and suppliers. Tim has actively supported Deloitte teams leading such transformations.

Tim was most recently a Senior Partner with Deloitte LLP (“Deloitte”). In addition to the Global Industry leadership role noted above, Tim has also served as both a lead client service partner and advisory partner for several of the Firm’s most significant global clients. In his Global industry leadership role, he is responsible for overall oversight of the global industry practice, including strategy, growth, as well as both talent and solution development.

Tim began his career at Arthur Andersen in 1978 and served as an audit partner for many of the largest manufacturers in Wisconsin. Over the past 17 years at Deloitte, Tim has been in many leadership roles, both in client service as well as in industry leadership. Prior to his most recent role as the Global Consumer and Industrial Products Industry Leader, Tim’s leadership roles have also included serving as the US Manufacturing Industry Leader.

Tim served as an active Board member of the National Association of Manufacturers from 2008 to 2017. Tim most recently served as the Acting Keyes Dean for the College of Business at Marquette University from 2020 to 2024, and also serves as a board member for Sphere 3D, a small publicly held company, and Wintrust Wisconsin, a fast-growing community bank in Wisconsin. He is also an advisor to the owners of several privately held companies in the manufacturing and distribution industries.
